About the Contest:

"Simply complete the application form along with illustrations, graphics, and/or photographs on paper, and submit the entire package before March 31, 2008. 1 Gold Prize Winner will receive JP¥ 1 million (~US$ 9,000), 10 Silver Prize Winners JP¥ 100,000 (~US$ 900), 20 Bronze Prize Winners will receive JP¥ 50,000 (~US$ 450). All will get their designs commercialize by Graniph and be distribute across its retail locations."

About the Drawings:

All of drawings were created between 7:30 am - 8:30 am on the morning of the contest deadline, 3/31/08. No planning involved. I placed the time on each design the exact moment the drawing was finished. The original drawings were then put into an envelope and mailed Japan.

About the Video:

Filmed off of the computer monitor. Two separate quicktime videos playing side by side create the split screen. Video was shot with a point and shoot Panasonic LX2 camera. No editing involved. Music playing from speakers by: Airforce II's

International Skull Drawing Contest

ISDC08 is sponsored by Rise & Fall Gallery. Artists were asked to create drawings of black and white skulls on A4 size paper. BIRDS. (I think it would be funny to paint this really large with a cluster dolphins replacing the birds. NOTE: by funny, i really mean creating 'A Work' with the highest intrinsic value in modern and contemporary art. FRESH.)
